Pin Electronics & Driver Boards
Board-level repair for output-driver, channel-control and related electronic faults associated with failed tester channels. Tester-side channel calibration remains separate.
Semiconductor tester board repair
ATE board faults can interrupt test channels, measurement or device power. GK-SEMI repairs tester electronics and helps evaluate hard-to-find replacement boards for established test platforms.
Repair services
We repair channel drivers, device-power circuits, measurement electronics and associated board controls.
Board-level repair for output-driver, channel-control and related electronic faults associated with failed tester channels. Tester-side channel calibration remains separate.
Address serviceable analog front-end, reference, signal-conditioning and interface faults that can affect measurement results.
Investigate supply control, protection and power-conversion circuits associated with DPS alarms or unstable DUT supplies.
Repair power, timing, communication and control circuits while checking part numbers and revision dependencies before substitution.
Why our team
Lost ATE channels can stop a qualified test program. Our Advantest, Teradyne and Cohu/Credence repair experience supports board-level recovery and revision-aware sourcing.
Experience with tester electronics keeps attention on the affected test resource, not just the PCB.
Component-level board repair keeps the customer's original assembly available as a recovery option instead of moving straight to a full-board purchase.
Older tester boards can be assessed for repair alongside scarce-parts sourcing.
Share fault symptoms, board identification and production urgency through the online team before arranging international service.
More than one recovery route
Repair the installed tester board where practical; otherwise check replacements against the tester platform and hardware revision.
Discuss a failed ATE boardRetain the installed assembly and its known hardware revision when component-level repair is practical.
Continue with related parts sourcing rather than starting a new supplier search. Match the board part number, revision and tester requirements before selecting a replacement.
Board repair case
A production tester developed repeated failures on a specific group of digital test channels. The case follows the PE board from initial fault isolation through bench repair and verification.
System diagnostics flagged intermittent logic failures on a specific group of digital channels during production. The tester platform isolated the fault to a suspected Pin Electronics (PE) board.
The maintenance team removed the suspected PE board for independent evaluation. They needed to confirm if the board was salvageable to avoid a costly and delayed full-board replacement.
Bench testing with an oscilloscope traced the fault to a localized driver circuit. The output signal was degrading under specific load conditions, while adjacent channels on the same board remained stable.
The failed driver IC and its associated decoupling capacitors were replaced on the original board. Trace damage was inspected and cleared before reassembly.
Bench checks confirmed the repaired channel met the specified logic level and timing response. The restored board was prepared for return. Final system calibration and timing alignment must be performed on the tester after reinstallation.
Engineering & purchasing
Practical answers before sending a tester board for service.
Our team has repair experience involving Advantest, Teradyne and Cohu/Credence equipment. The exact tester, board part number and fault must be reviewed for each inquiry.
We assess pin electronics and driver circuits, device power supply boards, measurement and analog functions, and timing or interface board faults according to the assembly involved.
Available electrical and board-level functional checks are selected for the repaired circuit. Final tester diagnostic, calibration and DUT performance checks take place on the actual ATE system.
We can assess older boards for component-level repair and investigate replacement or parts sourcing if the original assembly cannot be restored economically.
Retaining the original assembly can reduce board-revision and configuration changes. Firmware, programmed parts and calibration dependencies are reviewed where they are affected by the work.
Not necessarily. A failed channel may come from a localized driver or interface circuit; the repair decision depends on confirming the affected function and component condition.
Our equipment and parts sourcing resources can be used to search for a compatible replacement, with part number, hardware revision and system configuration considered.
Repair pricing and timing depend on the damaged circuits, component availability and required validation. We discuss the proposed scope before proceeding.
Provide the tester platform, board ID, diagnostic error or channel symptom, and whether the unit is stopping production. Our two-shift online support can help route the inquiry promptly.
