A System That Fits the Job Ahead

Tell us whether you are adding capacity, replacing equipment or bringing a new device into test. The starting point changes with the project.

01

Expand an existing test line

Start with your installed configuration and test program. Compare instruments, software and interfaces to identify what the additional system needs.

02

Replace an ageing tester

Identify the hardware and programs you want to retain. Review configuration differences and migration work before selecting a replacement.

03

Introduce a new device

Start with the device test requirements, measurement ranges and target site count. Establish the required instruments and interface before requesting equipment.

Compare the Complete Supply Scope

A lower equipment price can exclude the instruments, software or interface hardware your line needs. Use these six points to compare quotations on the same basis.

Installed instruments

Identify module part numbers, revisions and quantities. Match digital channels, analog measurements and power ranges to the device and site plan.

Software and controller

Confirm software version, controller hardware and operating system. Establish license transfer or activation requirements with the relevant rights holder.

Test-head and interface

List the manipulator, docking hardware, cables and boards included. Device-specific load boards, probe cards and sockets need separate confirmation.

Evidence of condition

Request photos of the actual unit, identification plates and installed modules. Distinguish power-on evidence from diagnostics, calibration and device testing.

Acceptance before shipment

Agree on the checks, records and pass criteria before purchase. Testing with your program or device requires the necessary permissions, hardware and materials.

Delivery and support

Define packing, included cooling equipment, destination, installation responsibility, warranty terms and any repair support in the quotation.

For final test, send the package, handler model and docking details. For wafer sort, send the prober model, wafer size and probe-card interface. Wafer diameter alone does not determine the ATE platform.

Used ATE Systems: Ordering Questions

What are semiconductor ATE systems?

Semiconductor ATE systems are automated test equipment that apply electrical signals to chips, measure their responses and compare the results with programmed limits. They connect to wafer probers or test handlers for wafer sort or packaged-device testing. Supported devices depend on the installed instruments, software and test interface.

How much does a used ATE system cost?

There is no single price for a platform name. System generation, module quantities, software, condition and included hardware affect the quotation. Send a target model or existing configuration to request a comparable offer, including any separately required interfaces and services.

Can a used tester run our existing test program?

Compatibility needs a review of the platform generation, instruments, software version, licenses and DUT interface. The same model name does not establish compatibility. Share a configuration list first; confirm any program transfer or validation work separately.

Does the ATE system include a handler or wafer prober?

Only if it is explicitly included in the quotation. A tester, handler or prober, and device-specific contact hardware can be supplied as separate items. Confirm each item and its interface before approving the order.

Can we inspect a system before shipment?

Ask for the inspection options available for the specific unit. Agree on photos, video, diagnostic records or a witnessed inspection before purchase. A power-on video alone does not demonstrate calibration status or performance with your device.

What should we send to request a quotation?

Send the preferred model, installed configuration or required instruments, software version, wafer-sort or final-test application, target site count, quantity and destination. If the configuration is incomplete, send the current tester's module list and identification photos as a starting point.
