Precision Spindle Rebuild
Spindle Repair
Cutting defects, vibration or rising temperature may point to a damaged spindle. GK-SEMI repairs precision spindle assemblies and supports compatible replacement sourcing when repair is not viable.
Spindle Repairs
We repair serviceable bearings, rotor alignment and balance issues on suitable semiconductor dicing and grinding spindles.
Machining Quality Degradation
Changes in cut or ground results can increase scrap risk and leave the team weighing repair against a costly spindle change.
We inspect shaft runout and bearing seats, replace worn precision bearings where suitable, and correct identified rotor alignment issues.
High-Frequency Noise & Overheating
Rising noise and heat can threaten bearing stability and make continued operation difficult to justify.
We inspect bearing and raceway damage, carry out the applicable bearing set replacement and reassembly, then check run-in behavior.
Abnormal Vibration
Vibration at operating speed can affect process consistency even after the obvious worn parts have been replaced.
We assess the rotating assembly, address identified imbalance and perform dynamic balancing and vibration checks where required by the spindle design.
Engineering Assurance
Why Our Team
Our precision spindle rebuild services are engineered for high-speed dicing and grinding applications, delivering component-level solutions that restore machine accuracy.
Experienced Engineering Team
Our team brings more than a decade of equipment experience to spindle repair for dicing and grinding systems.
Precision Work Beyond Bearings
Bearing replacement is only one part of a spindle repair. Where applicable, we address the rotating assembly, alignment and balancing before defining return checks.
More Options Beyond Repair
When spindle repair is no longer viable, we can help source replacement spindles, hard-to-find parts or used equipment through our parts and equipment resources.
Dicing Spindle Repair Case
Case data only: 1.2 μm to < 0.2 μm runout and G1.0 balancing; not universal repair specifications.
The Problem: A high-speed dicing spindle showed severe vibration. The OEM declared it unrepairable and quoted a replacement.
The Diagnosis: Our teardown revealed a bearing raceway failure causing rotor imbalance. The shaft housing was intact.
The Fix: We replaced the bearing set, realigned the rotor, and performed dynamic balancing. The unit was run-in at max RPM.

Spindle FAQs
Can you replace worn bearings in a precision spindle?
We assess bearing seats, bearing condition and the spindle design before replacement. Suitable bearing work is followed by reassembly and applicable run-in or precision checks.
Can you address spindle runout and abnormal vibration?
Our scope can include rotating assembly inspection, shaft or rotor alignment work, and dynamic balancing where applicable to the construction and fault found.
Do you repair both ball-bearing and air-bearing spindles?
These designs require different inspection and repair methods. Share the spindle model so we can confirm whether its bearing system and fault fall within the supported repair scope.
Why repair my original dicing spindle?
Keeping a repairable original spindle can preserve mounting geometry and installed connections while reducing the need to source and qualify another assembly.
What if the spindle is no longer economical to repair?
We can discuss replacement spindle sourcing and related equipment or parts options, including difficult-to-find models where available.
What verification is supplied after repair?
The agreed checks may include runout, vibration, temperature or run-in data, depending on the spindle. The case-study results on this page are specific to that unit, not a blanket performance guarantee.
How do we discuss lead time, cost and warranty?
These depend on the spindle, repair findings and parts requirements. Our team can outline the applicable scope and terms before you authorize work.
